• I am coming to Kansas from another state. Does Kansas have reciprocity? Posted on September 02, 2014 12:27 PM

  If you are licensed in another state and either that state or yourself meet Kansas licensure requirements, you should be able to apply for reciprocal licensure.
  

• Can I go to a continuing education program that has not been approved? Posted on September 02, 2014 12:28 PM

  Any program that is offered for continuing education credit must be approved. An embalmer or funeral director can apply to have that program approved prior to the presentation of the program or as much as 60 days past the presentation. However the licensee is taking a risk that the program may not be approved. An organization should apply for an individual program at least 30 days prior to the presentation of the program.

  To change your address you can send the current address to the board office, file online or send the information via  email.

• My license has lapsed in Kansas. How do I reinstate it? Posted on September 02, 2014 12:29 PM

  If your license has lapsed for longer than six (6) months, then it will be necessary to apply for a reinstatement by contacting our Topeka office . Requirements for reinstating a license that has lapsed for over six (6) months include meeting current licensure requirements, paying all back fees and reinstatement fee equivalent to the current licensure fee and earning all past due continuing education requirements within one year of reinstatement.
  

• I am not practicing in funeral service in Kansas. How do I become an inactive practitioner? Posted on September 02, 2014 12:30 PM

  Please note that by becoming an "Inactive Practitioner" you must still pay all renewal fees. Inactive Practitioners are exempt from obtaining continuing education credit. If you wish to reinstate your license to active status, you must file an Inactive Reinstatement Form and make up all previous hours within one year of reinstatement.
